Overview
From its inception in 2003, OAR has been a non-profit, 501C3 organization composed of rheumatologists dedicated to the advancement of quality arthritis and musculoskeletal health care for all persons in the State of Ohio.
What we do ...
- Author position papers on topics of concern to help lawmakers understand what we do as a specialist in our rheumatology practices.
- Correspond with local, state, and national elected officials and serve as an advocate of patient rights and to promote quality of life issues affecting patients with rheumatic diseases.
- Provide printed and e-newsletters to all rheumtalogists in the State of Ohio that include thought-provoking articles related to our specialty, many of which are written by OAR members.
- Provide opportunity for rheumatologists to attend OAR’s annual meeting in August. This symposium educates doctors on specific challenges to patient access to patient care as well as advances in technology.
- Encourage greater public understanding and awareness of the impact of rheumatic diseases on society and the importance of the subspecialty of rheumatology in altering disease outcomes.
Now is the time for rheumatologists to be leaders and advocate our abilities in arthritis care. We are in a position to best determine the standard of care for rheumatology in the State of Ohio and have a voice for our patients.
Together...we can shape the future of rheumatology.
